With Two Weeks to Go, Leading Hospitality Investors & Operators Participate in Vital Year for CHICOS: CHICOS 2017 Explores Key Investment Opportunities While Contributing to Caribbean Recovery

Leading Hospitality Investors and Operators Participate in Vital Year for CHICOS.
New York, New York:  Nearly 300 delegates are expected to gather at the Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference and Operations Summit (CHICOS), scheduled for November 9-10, 2017 at the Hamilton Princess in Bermuda. Recognized as the premier event for the hospitality industry in the region, CHICOS is known throughout the hotel investment community as “the place where deals get done.” This year marks a must-attend event for anyone with interest in hospitality sustainability of the region, demonstrating support post hurricanes for the residents and developments of the Caribbean.

CHICOS 2017 brings together the leading decision makers for hotel investment and development in the Caribbean. CHICOS proudly announces one of its significant panel discussions and speakers panel – the always anticipated Executive Panel:
  • Geoff Ballotti, President and Chief Executive Officer, Wyndham Hotel Group
  • Dave Johnson, President and Chief Executive Officer, Aimbridge Hospitality
  • Diego Lowenstein, Chief Executive Officer of Lionstone Development
  • Patrick Pacious, President and Chief Executive Officer, Choice Hotels International
  • Alejandro (Alex) Zozaya, Chief Executive Officer of Apple Leisure Group (ALG)
CHICOS is pleased to bring together industry thought leaders, for the first time, to Bermuda, which will benefit as it hosts numerous investors attending the conference,” says Parris Jordan, Chairman of HVS CHICOS. “The event provides an opportunity to showcase the islands of the Caribbean and the spectacular hotels that are here. CHICOS is honored to provide a space where owners, operators, and investors alike can expand their network and keep up to date on industry trends, particularly at this critical juncture for the region. We are now in a mode to ‘step it up’ and help our brothers and sisters to flourish.”

In light of the recent tragedies affecting the Caribbean region, HVS CHICOS has made a donation to the Rotary Foundation of the Caribbean in support of relief and recovery efforts for islands impacted by the recent storms. Representing a nation unaffected by the current natural disasters, the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) has matched the HVS CHICOS donation to assist in the region. Bermuda is more than 1,000 miles out of the path of the recent storms and is fortunately safe and continuing to welcome visitors.

As Chairman of CHICOS, a native of the Caribbean and frequent resident, visitor and traveler, the sustainability of the region is of utmost and personal importance to me “Having been through challenging hurricane situations in the past, I have personal experience working directly with the Rotary Foundation in the Caribbean, and I have the utmost confidence that our contributions will be used effectively and efficiently.”

Jordan will also serve on the Rotary Foundation’s Advisory Committee to ensure the funds are allocated as they were planned.

The Rotary Foundation, which has a history of operating in the region with nations impacted by hurricanes, is working to provide impacted countries with necessities such as water, canned food, and clothing. The organization has outstanding ratings, being named by CNBC as one of the “Top 10 Charities in the World.”  Every dollar of the proceeds received will be donated directly to beneficiaries in the Caribbean.
