HVS Re-Structures Its Presence in China 

HVS will now operate in China under its new Chinese name Hao Wei Sheng (豪威盛) and continue to offer Consulting & Valuation services through its offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Leading the HVS Greater China offices and team, will be Daniel J Voellm, Managing Partner, HVS Asia Pacific. The HVS Greater China offices have together completed over 800 assignments, and continue to be considered strategic advisors to key industry stakeholders in the region. On the occasion of its re-structured presence in the country, Stephen Rushmore Jr., President and CEO of HVS, said "China remains a critical area of focus as we continue to expand our services in this high growth region. Patina Enters Maldives 

Patina plans on establishing its name in the Maldives with a 70-villa luxury property scheduled to open in 2017. Patina would be located on Thanburudhoo Island, 20 mins north of Malé by speedboat. The company aims on entering the market relying on its location, being strategically situated within close proximities of some of the nation’s most renowned surf spots – Sultans and Honkeys. One of the greatest barriers to entries for hotel companies in the Maldives has been the accessibility from the airport to the respective resort islands. Hence, being located within close distances from the international airport as well as surfing spots will definitely offer Patina an added advantage.

Accor and the Seven New Ibis Hotels  

Accor is to open seven new ibis hotels in the UK starting with four ibis Styles properties this year: a 112-room hotel in Crewe, a 117-room hotel in Barnsley, a 102-room hotel in Haydock and a 166-room hotel at Birmingham NEC. Each of these hotels will be operated by Kew Green Hotels and opened under a franchise agreement with Carillion. Early next year will see the opening of a new-build, 47-room ibis Styles on the Greenwich peninsula under a franchise agreement with Conqueror Holdings. Later, in summer 2016 another ibis Styles will open, this time at London Heathrow airport. This hotel will open as part of a franchise agreement and will have 140 rooms. Finally, and with no current opening date, the 196-room ibis London Canning Town will open in the Hallsville Quarter development as part of a mixed-use scheme by Bouygues Development. Accor’s managing director for UK and Ireland, Thomas Dubaere, commented, “These new ibis and ibis Styles hotels signal our ambition to strengthen the ibis brands in the UK. The franchise deal for Crewe, Barnsley, Haydock, Birmingham and Greenwich not only reflects the strength of the ibis Styles brand, but recognises our excellent position as a franchise partner.“
