Thailand's Second dusitD2 Set to Open This Week  

Dusit International has announced the opening of a new dusitD2 Khao Yai on 2 August, 2016. Located on the fringe of Thailand's famous Khao Yai National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a two-hour drive from central Bangkok, the hotel will be the latest addition to dusit's D2 collection in Thailand, following an existing property in Chiang Mai. The pet-friendly hotel will offer 79 rooms and suites, an international restaurant, a coffee shop, an outdoor pool, as well as indoor and outdoor function space. One of the resort's unique features includes 'Cocoon', a treetop dining pod, which offers a bird's-eye view of the resort and surrounding mountains. According to Jerome Sim, General Manager of dusitD2 Khao Yai, "dusitD2 Khao Yai is an exciting addition to our expanding portfolio of hotels. Khao Yai is fast becoming one of Thailand’s most popular year-round holiday destinations, attracting an ever-increasing number of young, tech-savvy travelers, and dusitD2 Khao Yai is perfectly positioned to meet their needs." The dusitD2 brand is also present in the US, China and Kenya, and will soon make a debut in the UAE as well.

Kimpton to Make its Parisian Debut  

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has got together with AXA IM - Real Assets to bring its Kimpton brand to Paris, France, for the first time. The luxury, 176-room (including 27 suites) hotel is expected to open in 2020 in the city's high-end Opéra district. The hotel will also have a luxury spa, fitness facilities and state-of-the-art meeting space. The Paris Kimpton is the second of its brand to be signed in Europe - a Crowne Plaza property in Amsterdam city centre is to be rebranded as a 270-room Kimpton in 2017 following an extensive renovation, and will become the first Kimpton hotel to open outside of the Americas. IHG purchased Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in January 2015.
