Hilton Hotels & Resorts has recently announced the debut of Curio brand in China, with the opening of Sanya Yazhou Bay Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton in Sanya, Hainan Province. Designed by Studioaria, an Australian hotel design firm, the resort perfectly combines characters of individual animals such as seabirds and flying fish, and Sanya’s environment and culture. Strategically located at Yazhou Bay, the only shallow bay area in the South China Sea, the resort is about 35 kilometres from the downtown, at 25 minutes-drive from Sanya Phoenix International Airport, at 8 minutes-drive from Nanshan Temple and Dongtian Park, and less than 15 minutes away from Tianya Haijiao. Overlooking the beautiful garden or ocean views, the resort features 267 rooms and suites with spacious balconies. Other facilities at the resort include eight flexible meeting rooms totaling 1,218 square meters, five food and beverage outlets, a kid’s club, a gym, a 2,000-square metre outdoor swimming pool and so forth.

YOTEL is planning to open one of its pod-style hotels in in Amsterdam city centre, in the Netherlands. The 204-room YOTEL Amsterdam is expected to open in late 2019 in the Amsterdam Noord area, becoming the group’s second city centre property in Europe. The hotel will be the second YOTEL-branded property in the Netherlands, joining the existing YOTELAIR Schiphol Airport. Commenting on the group's latest signing, YOTEL's chief executive officer, Hubert Viriot, said, "Over the past year, we have been talking about the unprecedented rate of expansion of the YOTEL brand across the globe with the opening of a new YOTELAIR in Paris Charles de Gaulle and breaking ground in both London and Dubai. This year alone we will be opening three new city hotels in Boston, Singapore and San Francisco. We are delighted about embarking on our YOTEL Amsterdam venture with Being Development which is the next step in expanding our portfolio of affordable luxury hotels in Europe."
