Lauren Hock, a Vice President with HVS New Orleans, has spent more than a decade studying and working with hotels from coast to coast. Lauren earned her BS in Hotel Administration from Cornell University and served as Student Supervisor at the school’s full-service Statler Hotel. She was part of the opening team at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island outside Charleston, South Carolina, undertaking management roles ranging from housekeeping to front office to club lounge. She then moved to the West Coast and managed the Cliffs Resort in Shell Beach, California.
Since joining HVS New Orleans, Lauren has completed appraisals throughout the Gulf Coast, focusing on Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida panhandle. Working in these markets has given her a chance to complete feasibility studies involving the rehabilitation of vacant and historic buildings and undertake market studies for boutique hotels in smaller Southern towns. New Orleans is a testing ground for new concepts, and Lauren has completed studies for some of the newest properties under brands like Virgin, Moxy, Cambria, and Canopy.
