Erich Baum

Consulting Experience

Working for HVS for over 30 years, Erich Baum has performed appraisal and consulting assignments in 47 of the 50 states, as well as Mexico and the Caribbean. Because of his range of experience, Erich focuses on the most complex jobs, including litigation-related assignments and atypical consulting work, and his position as a Senior Vice President with HVS Boston makes him particularly expert in New England hotel real estate. With Steve Rushmore, Erich co-authored the 2001 edition of the Appraisal Institute’s hotel valuation textbook, and he has written articles on various issues relating to hotel appraisal and consulting. Erich is a state-certified appraiser and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cornell and the University of San Francisco, respectively.
